Man accused of sending explicit photo of missing woman to her family heading to trial

PENN HILLS, Pa. — The Penn Hills man accused of sending an explicit photograph of a missing woman to her juvenile sister is heading to trial.

During a preliminary hearing on Monday, Judge Anthony DeLuca held all charges for court in the case of Michael Manno. Those offenses include “corruption of minors” and a felony “unlawful contact with minor” charge.

The 46-year-old defendant is accused of sending an explicit selfie featuring his ex-girlfriend, Kaylene Oehling, to the woman’s 17-year-old sister.

Oehling hasn’t been seen or heard from in 16 months. According to a county police spokesman, the photograph was taken prior to her disappearance.

During Monday’s hearing, Manno appeared virtually from the Allegheny County Jail. He entered a not guilty plea via his public defender.

The teen victim then testified that she had posted a comment within a Facebook page, stating that she wanted justice for her sister. Manno, according to the testimony, responded to the comment with an explicit “selfie” that pictured him with Oehling.

Manno’s public defender requested to see the photograph during the hearing, but the county detective present within the courtroom failed to locate a printed copy.

That detective however described the image, and testified to having obtained a search warrant that linked the Facebook account from which it was posted to the defendant.

After the hearing, Channel 11 spoke with Tiffany Young, the mother of Oehling and the teen victim. Young said she is pleased that the case is moving forward and that she hopes Manno will be held accountable for his actions.

She added that the teen victim is now allegedly being harassed on Facebook by Manno’s acquaintances, since reporting the photo. Young said police have been informed.

Meantime, no one has ever been charged for Oehling’s disappearance. The Etna woman vanished in January 2020 at the age of 20.

During her testimony, Oehling’s teen sister identified Manno as “the last person to see my missing sister.”

In the past, county investigators revealed to Channel 11 that they do have suspects in regard to Oehling’s disappearance. Our questions regarding whether or not Manno is among those suspects have gone unanswered.
