MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A convicted murderer that has been wanted since December was arrested in McKeesport on Thursday, the Allegheny County Sherriff’s office announced.
Michael Lyons was wanted on two arrest warrants for simple assault and a bench warrant for violation of probation/parole from a 2013 guilty plea of conspiracy murder of the third degree and carrying a firearm without a license.
Lyons was placed on the Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” List on July 20, 2020.
In March 2013, authorities said Lyons and two other men assaulted a man on a party bus. They dragged the man out of the bus in the West End of Pittsburgh and shot him multiple times, according to the sheriff’s office. Lyons was placed on probation/parole as part of his guilty plea.

In December, Lyons allegedly hit his ex-girlfriend’s friend when he was in a fight with his ex-girlfriend after being asked to pick up their child. Before he left, he took the ex-girlfriend’s phone. He was charged with criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Authorities said Lyons was involved in another fight with his ex-girlfriend, who was pregnant at the time, in July. He allegedly wrestled and punched her over a Playstation. He was charged with criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Thursday morning, Sheriff’s deputies said they went to the 2900 block of Grover Street, where they believed Lyons was staying with a friend. When authorities got to the home around 1:30 p.m., they took Lyons into custody.
Lyons was taken to the Allegheny County Jail, where he was lodged on the bench warrant and will await arraignment on the two arrest warrants.
