PITTSBURGH — An early-morning bar fight spilled onto East Carson Street in the South Side Flats, sending one person to the hospital and injuring a law enforcement officer.

According to police paperwork, Jason Moreno was kicked out of Oddballs bar for apparently attempting to start a fight.

Once outside, he was joined by others, including Lamar Canty, 34, just before 1 a.m. Monday, per court documents.

A skirmish ensued and a constable, who was working security, was thrown to the ground, injuring her hip.

A Pittsburgh Police Officer rushed in to help, grabbing Moreno and pulling him away.

Documents then show that Canty allegedly ran up and punched Moreno in the face while he was being held by the officer.

Moreno fell to the ground, hit his head, and was knocked unconscious. He was eventually taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the officer pulled out his Taser, but never used it. Canty was taken into custody.

Arresting documents show that Canty is charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated assault.

It’s unclear if anyone else will face charges in connection to this incident.
