HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Allegheny County police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly car crash on Route 8.
Police said Carl Keating, 32, was driving a 1992 Honda Civic north at a “high rate of speed” on Route 8 on Dec. 11 when he lost control of the car and entered the opposite lanes of traffic.

According to a release, Keating’s car hit two other vehicles.
Rebecca Koorsen, 28, was a passenger Keating’s vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was hurt, but now Keating is facing multiple charges – including driving under the influence. Police said toxicology reports came back positive for Cannabinoids in his system at the time of the crash.
The presence of cannabinoids in a person’s blood indicate recent marijuana use, but it is unclear if Keating is accused of using marijuana the day of the accident.
He was arrested by county police on Tuesday and is being charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter and traffic offenses.
Keating is awaiting arraignment at the Allegheny County Jail.
