SEVEN FIELDS, Pa. — State police arrested a Butler County man this week and charged him with more than 100 counts connected to child pornography.
Troopers raided Jacob Schmader’s Seven Fields home, seizing his hard drive, on which they say they found more than 500 images of children four to eight years old.
The Pennsylvania State Police computer crime unit tells Channel 11 it became aware of Schmader In May after they say he downloaded child pornography from the internet. The undercover investigation ended with his arrest Thursday.

“Our investigation shows that he had child pornography on his computer and had downloaded it,” said Trooper Dan Kesten. “He came to the barracks and he confessed to what he had done.”
Troopers working with the computer crime unit in Butler are constantly online looking for offenders. Most of the pictures and videos they take into evidence can be very difficult to see.
“These are kids that are being victimized. It is very tough,” Kesten said.
The felony charges include 50 counts of downloading child porn and 50 counts of sexual abuse of children.
