PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh man is facing multiple charges after police say he went on a tire slashing spree on Friday in Lawrenceville.
Shawn McFarland, 43, was charged with felony escape, criminal mischief, fleeing, misdemeanor possessing instruments of crime, simple assault, loitering or prowling at night and drug possession.
Police said McFarland slashed the tires of at least 25 vehicles on Main Street, causing thousands of dollars in damage. Police said an officer caught him in that act, but as he was being handcuffed he ran away and attempted to hide in a yard.
“Hopefully you’ll understand the value of a dollar!”
