Man critically hurt when 30+ shots fired in Pittsburgh neighborhood

PITTSBURGH — A man was critically hurt when more than 30 shots were fired late Tuesday night in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood, police said.

The man was found shot near the intersection of Bennett and Oakwood streets, several blocks away from where a ShotSpotter notification alerted police to the gunfire just before midnight along Frankstown Road.

The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, authorities said.

Investigators said they found multiple shell casings at the shooting scene on Frankstown Road. Officers were seen going in and out of Simmie's Restaurant & Lounge and checking out cars in the parking lot.
