Man dead, 11-year-old girl flown to Pittsburgh hospital after crash involving motorcycle

LAWRENCE CO., Pa. — A man was killed and an 11-year-old girl was injured when a motorcycle and vehicle collided in Lawrence County Friday afternoon.

Pennsylvania State Police said the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Maitland Lane in Neshannock Township.

According to a release, a woman was driving her Nissan west on Maitland Lane trying to make a left turn into the fish commission property when a motorcycle struck the side of their vehicle. She was okay, but an 11-year-old girl inside the Nissan was trapped and had to be flown from the scene to a Pittsburgh hospital.

The girl suffered moderate injuries, police said.

The driver of the motorcycle -- identified as Randall Verzilli -- was killed in the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lawrence County coroner.

Police continue to investigate the deadly crash.
