That man was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics attempted “life-saving measures,” according to a release. He was not identified by authorities.

After an initial investigation, police determined that a 27-year-old woman was driving a box truck east on Jacks Run Road when she tried to avoid hitting a vehicle that was making a left turn in front of her.

Investigators said she swerved into the opposite lanes of traffic and hit the victim’s car head-on.

Police said it isn’t clear if the truck driver was distracted or if the vehicle in front of her stopped suddenly.

The road was shut down as crews cleared the scene but is back open.
