MONROEVILLE, Pa. — A man died on a road in Monroeville when he was hit by a vehicle Thursday night, police said.
It was just after 9 p.m. when the deadly accident happened along William Penn Highway, near the Sheetz gas station at the intersection with Elliott Road.
The man, who was identified Sunday as 32-year-old Kenneth Kissell Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
When Channel 11 News got to the scene, an SUV, a white Chevy Traverse, was seen parked alongside the road with some damage to the front of it.
A man who was in his car when the crash happened said he got out to see if anyone called 911 and to see if the victim was OK.

This was the third pedestrian crash within the last month or so in the area.
Earlier this month, a drunk driver hit and killed a man crossing Mosside Boulevard.
Back in July, a car hit a woman crossing Route 22 in the middle of the day. Her injuries were so bad that she needed surgery.

One man said he avoids crossing Route 22 and thinks there should be more signs warning about the danger.
“I notice a lot, especially on a busy street like this one, a lot of pedestrians like to stand right in the median, right on the concrete block, which I think is really dangerous. It can cause an accident,” explained Jonathan Dougherty.
There are still so many questions surrounding the most recent crash. One thing that is clear is the concern people in the area have.
Dougherty said he also notices drivers speeding.
“Last couple of nights, I watched a good three or four of them get pulled over by the cop that sits in the parking lot. A lot of them are on motorcycles. Some of them are just them speeding in sports cars,” he said.
An arrest hasn’t been made in Thursday’s accident, but police said the driver stayed at the scene.
