MUDDY CREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was found shot to death Monday in an SUV that was found down an embankment in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Police were called about 8 p.m. to East Portersville Road, where the SUV was located.
The SUV was just off the roadway and down the small embankment along the entrance to a mining facility, police said.
The man inside was identified as David Hines, 38, of New Castle. He suffered an apparent gunshot wound, according to authorities.

Hines was last seen in New Castle on Monday afternoon.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
