A man is in grave condition after being hit by an SUV in Carnegie Thursday night.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Cubbage and West Main streets around 9:46 p.m.
Police said the victim is a 59-year-old man.
The driver originally left the scene because she told police she thought she hit a deer in the whiteout conditions.
Police said she saw the story on the news, then called them.
