MCKEESPORT — A home invasion in McKeesport on Jan. 19 left one man dead and another facing charges.
Allegheny County police said Devin Hale, 30, of Monroeville, was charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, intimidation of a witness, conspiracy, terroristic threats and two counts of strangulation after the death of David M. Gutierrez-Faust, 69 of McKeesport.
Gutierrez-Faust was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon of injuries he suffered during the incident, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police said it was reported that two men invaded the home in the 2900 block of Grover Street in McKeesport. A witness told police there was a knock at the rear door of the home and when they answered, a firearm was pointed in their face.
A witness identified Hale, and it was reported that Hale hit Gutierrez-Faust in the head and face multiple times and then strangled him, according to the criminal complaint.
The second suspect, still unidentified, then reached into Gutierrez-Faust’s pocket after and took money and crack cocaine, according to the document.
When police arrived, they found Gutierrez-Faust unresponsive and without a pulse. He was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
