Isiah Colbert and his former girlfriend, Bobbi Jo Mack, attached the victim at an ATM in North Union Township on the girl’s 19th birthday.
On Wednesday, Colbert told a judge he was on drugs at the time and didn’t remember much about the night. He said he had been on a three-day partying binge of drinking and taking Xanax when police said he targeted and followed the victim before assaulting her and leaving her for dead.
Prosecutors said Colbert punched the victim in the face and threw her in the trunk. He then drove her from ATM to ATM before going to the Coolsprings ballfield woods, where he assaulted her more.
At his plea hearing the DA said “she was left for dead.” She laid there for two hours until she gained consciousness and crawled for help in 23 degree weather.
On Wednesday, Colbert testified, “I don’t remember too much. Basically, the charges against me, I did it. I was drinking, taking Zani-bars, on a three-day binge just partying.”
The district attorney said if it went to a jury, they’d see horrendous photos of the victim that night. Her face was covered in blood, and she suffered a broken back, bleeding in the brain, hearing loss and vision loss.
After pleading guilty, Colbert said, “I’m sorry that things happened to her, but I ain’t never raped nobody.”
His ex-girlfriend also pleaded guilty in the case. The victim was in court Wednesday and is expected to testify at sentencing next week.
