Police were called to Frick Hospital. When they got there, Overly told police he suffered injuries to his hands and arms after hitting the windshield to get the driver of the car to stop.

The assault victims told police the incident started along the 200 block of South Broad Street in Scottdale late Saturday night. The female victim said she was choked by Overley and pushed to the ground as she held her baby.

The driver of the car told police he got into a fight with Overly. The driver said he thought his nose was broken and drove to the hospital.

As the two drove away, they told police Overly jumped on the hood of the car and wouldn’t get off, so the male driver continued to drive to the hospital.

Overly told police the driver hit another car along North Broadway Boulevard, but didn’t stop, according to court documents.

Police said they were investigating a hit-and-run when they got the call for a disturbance at the hospital.

The driver of the car has not been charged.

Overly was arrested and taken to the Westmoreland County Prison.
