Man shot by 2 people who forced themselves inside Pittsburgh home, police say

PITTSBURGH — A man was rushed to the hospital after a home invasion ended with a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Elliott neighborhood.

According to police, two men showed up at the victim’s door in the 700 block of Lorenz Avenue just before 10 p.m. Thursday.

The victim told investigators one of them men asked to use his phone, when another man, who was hiding, jump out and forced his way inside the home. At that point, the victim was shot in the hip.

Police said the victim -- who was not identified -- was alert and conscious when emergency responders got to the home. He was taken via ambulance to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released any information about the suspected home invaders. The investigation is ongoing.
