They found 49-year-old Raffel Greene, of Clairton, and 32-year-old Jessica Taylor, of Finleyville, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said Greene got out of the car after the shooting and tried to run from the scene before he collapsed. Taylor was found inside the car.
Neither victim lived in Crawford Village, according to investigators.
Greene's daughter told Channel 11's Renee Kaminski that a good Samaritan tried to help her father.
"He stayed with him the whole time. My dad died in his arms," Rakell Greene said.
Police said both victims were sitting inside of a parked car outside of Building 39 when a gunman, who at first appeared to be having a conversation with the driver, suddenly opened fire.
"I believe (my father) was set up and robbed," Rakell Greene said.
No arrests have been made, and police said Thursday morning that the motive was unclear. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
