NEW BRIGHTON, Pa. — Multiple crews battled a massive fire that destroyed a home and spread to other houses in New Brighton.
Investigators said the fire started around 7 p.m. Saturday at a home on 6th Avenue. The entire home was engulfed in flames within minutes, and crews put out hot spots for a few hours.

Witnesses said huge flames were shooting out of the home, and both neighboring homes also caught on fire. Flames melted the siding of the one home next door, but the other neighboring home now has pretty severe fire damage.
Fire officials said the home is vacant and was fully involved when they got to the scene around 7 p.m. The home is completely gutted, as the only thing left is charred remains.
Eight fire departments responded to both scenes.
Just a few blocks away, officials said crews were called to another fire -- this one on 6th Street. Both fires happened within a few hours of each other as well.
