WILKINS TWP. — Firefighters worked overnight as a large fire destroyed a home in Wilkins Township.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night on Highland Avenue.
The two-story home was engulfed in flames and was still smoldering Sunday morning.
Tanker trucks were brought in as the home was located on a hillside, and the narrow road and dead end street also created challenges for firefighters.
No one was hurt, and the American Red Cross is assisting the homeowner.
The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is investigating.
