WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Meadows Racetrack & Casino announced it is now a completely smoke free facility.

In a social media post, it said smoking has been “phased out in the casino” and that it reopened Saturday morning “as a 100% smoke free facility.” The post added that this was by order of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The casino is closed each day in order to deep clean and sanitize it. The slot machines were moved to adhere to social distancing guidelines and table games now have a maximum occupancy.

This follows the suspension of “on-site race wagering” at the racetrack because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the region. The temporary ban went into effect Friday night.
