ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Runoff from a mine is causing quite the headache for one property owner in Elizabeth Township.
George Casoni has been dealing with bright orange water running down the driveway into the basement of one of his rental properties for several weeks.
“I actually brought people over to show them the house to rent and they said no. They're not going to rent these with something like that happening," Casoni said.

Elizabeth Township officials confirm there’s a significant drainage problem underneath the road, one that could cost millions to fix.
“It's all stemming from the same issue; mining in the 1950s and 1960s. And then the problem arose in the 1970s," Township Commissioner Andrew Kuzma said.
Kuzma told Channel 11 that the township has been in touch with the Bureau of Abandoned Mines and workers will be in the area Tuesday to clean out the pipe that's causing the problem.
