Missing elderly man found by K-9 after spending night in the rain

OHIO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — What started as a sad story comes to a happy ending in Ohio Township.

Ohio Township Police were alerted to a vehicle found adandoned along Mt. Nebo Road in Ohio Township on Saturday morning.

They were also notified that this vehicle belonged to a missing older gentleman showing signs of dementia from a neighboring community.

Officers checked the area, but could not find the missing man.

Police Officer Eric Wallace and K-9 Larry then did a “track” to try to locate him.

Once K-9 Larry arrived, he soon detected a scent and led rescuers down a wooded hillside.

He then found the missing man who had fallen down the hillside the afternoon before and spent the night outside in the rain.

EMS helped the man to the ambulance, where he was alert and conscious.
