Monopoly chooses Pittsburgh as next city to receive city-specific board game

PITTSBURGH — Game night is about to get a major Pittsburgh infusion, the makers of Monopoly have chosen Pittsburgh as one of the next cities to receive a city-specific board game!

Representatives from the makers of the game, including Mr. Monopoly met with Mayor Gainey and Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald on Mount Washington Wednesday to announce the game.

Pittsburghers will have the opportunity to vote for areas and landmarks that they believe should get a spot on the official board!

“Please come on, submit what neighborhood, what landmark you think should be part of Monopoly,” Gainey said. “At the end of the day, we want to thank you, for making Pittsburgh a part of the Monopoly family.”

Every detail, from the “community chest” to the “chance” squares are up for Pittsburghers to choose. The official board is set to be unveiled this fall.
