PITTSBURGH — It’s been several weeks since 15-year-old Steve Eason was shot and killed at Haunted Hills Hayride in North Versailles. Another teen was also shot, but survived.
No one has been charged in Eason’s death.
His mother, Shantel Pizaro, participated in an anti-violence rally and march Saturday in Homewood.
Pizaro renewed her plea for the public to come forward with any information they may have about what happened the night of Steven’s death.
“If they were at the hayride Sept. 11, if you were in line. Anything with people in the background - if they could provide any of those pics or video from that evening. That would help us tremendously,” she said.
Pizaro also called for a unified effort to provide more community programs that will keep kids off the streets.
“What are we doing to change the environment for our children now? Something has to change. We have to make it safe for our kids,” she said.
