MURRYSVILLE, Pa. — A man riding a motorcycle was killed in a crash overnight Sunday in Westmoreland County.

According to the coroner’s office, the crash happened around 12:45 a.m. on Sardis Road in Murrysville.

Investigators said the victim -- identified as Robert Mahan, 24 -- was riding his motorcycle south on Sardis Road when he crossed over the center line into the opposite lane and hit a Honda CR-V.

Mahan was thrown from the motorcycle, and the county coroner pronounced him dead at the scene. Police said Mahan was not wearing a helmet at the time of the deadly crash.
