PITTSBURGH — A Black Lives Matter mural painted on a retaining wall along the Allegheny River downtown is getting a lot of attention.

It’s visible from both the Fort Pitt Bridge and the North Shore.

The city of Pittsburgh did not issue a permit for the mural, according to our news partners at TribLIVE.com, but the city supports it.

Mayor Bill Peduto has ordered the city’s public works department, and others, not to paint over it. Duquesne Light has also added lighting.
