PITTSBURGH — A new spin-off from “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” will debut on PBS stations, including WQED-TV in the Pittsburgh area on May 3.
According to our partners at TribLive.com, the puppet show “Donkey Hodie” is the second spin-off series from the beloved childhood program after “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.”
The new show will focus on Donkey Hodie, granddaughter of the original Donkey Hodie, who appeared in 59 episodes of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” It will be aimed at children ages 3-5 and will include education components focused on teamwork, empathy, resilience, perseverance, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
It will be set in Someplace Else, a previously visited land from The Neighborhood of Make-Believe.
