PITTSBURGH — A new warship will be named after the city of Pittsburgh and will serve the U.S. Navy.
The USS Pittsburgh will be the fifth to be named after the Steel City.
The first was an ironclad gunboat used during the American Civil War, and the most recent was decommissioned in 2019.
Officials said Pittsburgh is a proud city with a strong legacy of service.
