PITTSBURGH — A new resource is now available to students struggling with remote learning.

The library had to close its doors to the public because of the pandemic, but they’re still doing what they can to help students.

Students with a library card now have free access to online tutoring.

The library said the resource has been around for a while in Allegheny County, but it will soon be expanding to surrounding counties. It has been especially helpful for students struggling to keep up during the pandemic.

“It’s just hard for me to articulate how heartbreaking it is to think that students are at home all the time and are trying to navigate these online platforms and in ways that, you know, you can’t imagine children having to do before this,” said Hilary Lewis, from the Carnegie Library.

All you need is your library card to access www.tutor.com through the library’s website. Tutoring is one-on-one and is available from noon until midnight.

The resource will be available in Armstrong, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer counties starting next month.
