MONROEVILLE, Pa. — Officials with Allegheny Health Network said there are thousands of COVID-19 vaccines still available for two clinics, and no appointment is needed for the one on Friday.
The clinics will be held Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Next Tier Connect in Monroeville. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be used.
In addition to everyone eligible in phases 1A and 1B, the state has granted AHN permission to open up eligibility to everyone in Phase 1C.
“We actually spoke with the state yesterday and they allowed us to add 1C as well, and that’s why we sent the info to social media and to you guys. We opened it up,” Dr. Imran Qadeer, chief medical officer at Allegheny General Hospital, said.
Walk-ins will be accepted Friday, but appointments can still be made for both days (CLICK HERE). Appointments can also be made by calling 412-DOCTORS between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
People are reminded to bring their ID.
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is only one dose, whereas the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines require two doses.
About 13,000 shots are expected to be given out between Friday and Saturday.
