UPDATE 12:30 p.m.:

Pittsburgh police announced that after further reviewing arrests made in the hours after Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, none were connected with the celebration. Police did, however, arrest two people on the South Side in unrelated instances.

Thomas Dowden, 35, of Peters Township, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after a conflict with two women inside the Flats Bar. Police said Dowden said something crude to the women and one of them pushed him away. He started down the steps in front of them and reverse-kicked one of the women in the face, according to police.

Neither of the women were injured or needed medical treatment.

Police said they also arrested Derrick Lang, 46, after an officer saw his van sitting in the middle of an intersection with him asleep at the wheel.

Firefighters also responded to a couch being set on fire on Kathleen Street on Mount Washington, which was put out without a problem, according to police.

Several patients were treated for heat-related issues, but police did not have an exact number. One person was taken to a hospital after falling and suffering a mild head injury.

Thousands of fans celebrated in the streets last night after the Penguins clinched their second consecutive Stanley Cup, but the partying never really got out of hand.

Early reports indicate only one person was arrested, according to Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler. In addition, only one person required medical transport.

She emphasized those numbers are unconfirmed. It was not immediately clear where the arrest or transport took place.

Police closed off a section of East Carson Street so fans pouring out of bars in that area could celebrate on the streets and sidewalks without worrying about vehicular traffic. The thoroughfare was reopened just before 2 a.m.
