SEWICKLEY — No one was hurt in a house fire that broke out Monday morning in Sewickley.
It happened on Centennial Avenue in Sewickley around 5:10 a.m.
Three people inside when the fire started, and everyone was able to get out safely, according to firefighters. However, a pet died in the fire, officials said.
A resident told WPXI that he was asleep in the basement when he smelled smoke and saw flames in the corner of the room, and alerted the rest of the people in the home.

Cochran Hose Company Fire Chief Shayne Quinn said due to the construction of the house the fire spread very rapidly from the basement to the third floor.
The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.
While the fire is under investigation, officials believe they know how it started.
