NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Norwin School District has lifted a modified lockdown after a SWAT situation ended in North Huntingdon Township with the suspect being taken into custody.
Police notified the district of a “community threat” 7:45 Monday morning, which resulted in the modified lockdown and some schools being closed.
Normal operations are have resumed at Hillcrest Intermediate School and at Norwin Middle School.
At 12:25 p.m., the NHTPD informed the District that a suspect was in custody & the community threat had ended. The SWAT team surrounded a home on Crestwood Drive around 7:30 a.m.
Officers remained outside the home until the suspect was taken into custody shortly after Noon.
His name hasn’t been released and it’s unclear what charges he may face.
