NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Norwin School District has lifted a modified lockdown after a SWAT situation ended in North Huntingdon Township with the suspect being taken into custody.
Police notified the district of a “community threat” 7:45 Monday morning, which resulted in the modified lockdown and some schools being closed.
Normal operations are have resumed at Hillcrest Intermediate School and at Norwin Middle School.
The SWAT team surrounded a home on Crestwood Drive around 7:30 a.m.
Officers remained outside the home until the suspect was taken into custody shortly after Noon.
His name hasn’t been released and it’s unclear what charges he may face.
