BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado touched down in Beaver County shortly after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near Ohioville.
The storm started near Tuscarawas Road where five power poles were snapped near the Shop-N-Save plaza, then moved along a path of nearly 10 miles before ending near Daugherty Township.
As many as 40 to 50 trees were snapped our uprooted along the storms path.
It is the 17th tornado in Beaver county since 1950 and the strongest tornado since the tornado outbreak of May 31, 1985, when more than 20 tornadoes ravaged much of Pennsylvania.
No injuries were reported.
On Friday, the National Weather Service also confirmed a microburst caused severe damage in Elizabeth Township in Allegheny County.
For those asking, radar analysis and storm report photos conclusively show that Wednesday evening's damage in the Elizabeth Twp. area of Allegheny County was the result of a microburst.

We've confirmed another tornado associated with last night's storms in Beaver County. Rated and EF2 which makes it the strongest tornado to hit the county since May 31st 1985. We will have more details out later this afternoon with a final public information statement.
