PITTSBURGH — A group protesting hate crimes against Asian Americans shut down Forbes Avenue in Oakland Saturday afternoon. They were joined by actress Sandra Oh, best known for her role in Grey’s Anatomy, who was in town filming a new series for Netflix.

A couple hundred protesters attended the “Stop Asian Hate” rally at the intersection of Forbes and Oakland avenues. Organizers said they want people to know that they won’t stand for hate.

“For many of us in our community, this is the first time we are able to voice our fear and anger, and I am so grateful for everyone willing to listen,” Oh said.
