Ligonier is prone to flooding, but township officials said Friday they’re dealing with flooding in places that they’ve really never seen before.
Old Linn Run Road looked more like a river when the Linn Run Stream spilled its banks Wednesday night, said resident Kandi Newell.
“You just saw drawers and lumber floating past you," she said.
Flash flooding swallowed the pavement and left the road chewed up. Public works crews have spent days trying to make it passable.
The township says replacing the road is going to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. They're considering labeling it an emergency disaster.
