WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Meadows Racetrack & Casino is pressing pause on its “on-site race wagering” because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the region.
The temporary ban will take effect starting at 11:59 p.m. Friday.

Live racing will continue, but the 5/8 mile harness racetrack won’t be open to the public. Casino officials said you can still place bets on the races as well, but they must be done online.
The races will also be available to watch online here.
Meanwhile, officials said the casino will remain open to the public, operating under enhanced safety guidelines passed down by the Pa. Department of Health:
Social Distancing
- Capacity on the gaming floor is limited to no more than 50% of maximum occupancy.
- Floor decals and signage to strictly enforce social distancing guidelines in areas where lines typically form has been installed.
- Table game seating is limited, and slot machines are configured to meet social distancing requirements.
- Live music, entertainment, and convention services remains suspended.
- There are currently no large drawings, tournaments, or special events.
- Restaurant offerings are limited and serviced from The Eatery, Bistecca Steakhouse and The Pub.
- Adios Lounge, The Carvery and Delvins remain closed.
- The poker room and valet also remain closed.
Health & Safety
- Team members and vendors are required to wear masks and undergo a health screening each day, including temperature checks, prior to their shift.
- Guests are required to wear masks and are temperature checked prior to entering the casino floor.
- Slot machines and table games are thoroughly and regularly cleaned throughout the day.
- Sanitizer stations have been installed on the casino floor and are readily available throughout the facility.
- We deploy a fog machine to disinfect and sanitize the property every night.
The Meadows casino is open Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m., closing each night to disinfect and sanitize the property.
