Only Channel 11 was there as East McKeesport police walked suspected bank robber Wanda Irvin out of the North Versailles police station Tuesday night.

Police say Irvin tried to rob the Key Bank on Fifth Avenue in East McKeesport.

Channel 11 peppered Irvin over and over again with questions. She didn’t have much to say other than, “I don’t know.

Just after 4 p.m., police said the one-armed, 52-year-old woman walked in with a knife and told a teller to give her cash.

Police said the teller said no, and Irvin ran out of the bank and drove off.

Workers were able to write down her plate number and police tracked her to her East McKeesport home nearby. When police arrested her, they say she said, "I don't know why I did it," over and over again.

She had a similar response when Channel 11 questioned her.

“It’s not a good thing,” she said.

Police say Irvin admitted to the crime. When they searched her purse, they found the knife they believe she used in the attempted robbery.

She's currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail. She has not been able to post bond.
