CARROLL TWP. — One person was killed after being hit by a train near Route 837and Jones Lane in Carroll Township, Washington County, on Friday evening.

The person was hit shortly before 4 p.m. along the Norfolk Southern Railway tracks according to the Washington County Coroner’s Office.

The victim’s name was not released pending notification of next of kin.

Norfolk Southern Police are investigating the incident along with the Carroll Township and Monongahela police departments.
