PITTSBURGH — A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged with criminal homicide in connection with a woman found shot to death on a Carrick sidewalk.
Investigators said Donte Moss was arrested and is being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
The woman was found dead just after 12:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Linnview Avenue. Police said she had been shot in the head.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Nalene R. Harrell, 38, of Pittsburgh. Harrell and Moss were allegedly dating.
According to a criminal complaint, Moss said they were driving home from an event when he pulled their car over -- and Harrell then got out and shot herself in the head.
However, the medical examiner told officers the bullet was fired from a gun from a minimum distance of 3.5 feet. That led to Moss facing the charges of criminal homicide.
