An Eighty Four man allegedly shot and killed his former neighbor in what he told police was an act of self-defense outside a Fayette County bar Friday night, officials said.
Nathan A. Yasek, 35, is facing charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault and related crimes, according to court records.
Police said they were called to Rizz’s Bar on West Main Street in Uniontown around 10 p.m. for a report of a male shot. In the parking lot, they found Timothy Durst with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

Witnesses said Yasek had just entered the bar, saying he had “just shot someone,” prompting the 911 call, police said. Yasek had a .45-caliber handgun, which police seized without resistance.
Police said Yasek told them that while he was getting into his truck, Durst struck him from behind. Yasek said he turned to face Durst, who struck him again. Yasek told police he pulled the gun from his waistband and “created a distance” between himself and Durst, according to the affidavit.
Durst disregarded the gun and struck him in the chest, Yasek told police. Fearing Durst would steal his truck, where his girlfriend was sitting, Yasek allegedly shot Durst twice, killing him.
Yasek is currently in the Fayette County Prison awaiting arraignment.
