MURRYVILLE, Pa. — “How dare you? He needs to get a life, and he’s gross.”
A woman spoke exclusively to Channel 11, telling us how she is still in disbelief that police say a man filmed up her shorts while waiting in line inside the Sheetz in Murrysville.
She understandably wanted to be kept anonymous.
“It was sly. In five seconds, he taped his phone to the top of his foot, and stuck it in between my legs. [He] taped for a few seconds and backed away. I had no idea it even happened,” she told us.
It wasn’t until Murrysville police called her after another woman noticed a man doing the same thing to her at the Sheetz, and nudged her in the process.
Investigators say his name is Brandon Bass.
Police searched his phone, and found the video of the victim we spoke with, then officers showed her the surveillance video from Sheetz.
“I teared up because I felt so violated. I had no idea he did this. He was so close behind me, and I don’t remember it. I don’t remember feeling anything weird,” she added.
It turns out, detectives say they knew about Bass because he was accused of the same thing at the same Sheetz five years earlier.
Sgt. Daniel Cox with Murrysville Police told us, “Everything was exactly the same. He uses a cell phone. He likes to video tape women in public in areas they wouldn’t otherwise be seen.”
As of now, there are three known victims, but police believe there could be more.
“This goes back to 2016, so the chance of him doing it other times when he wasn’t caught is very possible,” Sgt. Cox said.
Bass is facing misdemeanor charges.
“It’s a misdemeanor, so what really happens? A slap on the wrist. Pay a fine, and go about your business. He probably will do it again, it’s just sad,” the victim said.
Investigators say, Bass denied the allegations, and said his phone fell through a pocket in his pants onto his shoe.
Channel 11′s Gabriella DeLuca went to Bass’ home today, but no one answered the door.
