A guard at the Somerset state prison is now behind bars.
Police said Shawn Kirkpatrick smuggled marijuana and suboxone into the prison.
He was helping an inmate, who was once known as a "crack cocaine king," according to police.
Police say the inmate, Akil Johnson, had allegedly been running a drug ring from prison.
That facility has been having issues lately with repeated lockdowns for things like stabbings and the discovery of contraband.
