Pa. State Representative could challenge Congressman in upcoming primary election

PITTSBURGH — Pennsylvania State Representative Summer Lee could be getting ready to challenge Congressman Mike Doyle in the Democratic primary.

Multiple political sources told Target 11 that Lee is planning to run for Congress next year and will be challenging long-time, and popular, incumbent Mike Doyle.

Lee, who is from Braddock, defeated an incumbent state representative to win election to the legislature in 2018. Sources claim she’s exploring a run against veteran Doyle, who is from Forest Hills.

A constitutional law professor who challenged Doyle last year weighs-in on the news -- in the video above.
