Judge orders part of Allegheny Co. Courthouse to close

PITTSBURGH — Part of the Allegheny County Courthouse was closed Friday, according to courthouse officials.

The Criminal Division of the Court of Common Pleas is temporarily closed, but bail hearing and motions court will continue.

A reason for the closure was not provided in President Judge Kim Berkeley Clark’s order.

There have been concerns in the courthouse because of the coronavirus.

Earlier this week, a trial was delayed after questions surrounding safety procedures at the building.

A county spokesperson told us the county follows all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, including sanitizing stations, physical distancing, and enhanced cleaning.
