Part of Millvale home collapses, 1 firefighter injured from massive blaze

MILLVALE, Pa. — Multiple crews battled a large fire that tore through a house in Millvale Monday afternoon.

Channel 11 crews could see heavy smoke and flames pouring out of the building in the 300 block of William Street.

Part of the house collapsed due to the massive fire as firefighters worked to get it under control.

It started around 4 p.m. inside the two-story home.

Chopper 11 was over the scene and saw a firefighter receiving attention from EMS. Officials said that firefighter was taken to the hospital for burns.

Fire officials told Channel 11 a woman and two children were inside when the flames broke out, but they were able to get out safely.

The damage left behind includes gaping holes in the roof and side, along with a partial collapse.

According to fire officials, the house was destroyed. The fire marshal is now investigating what caused it.
