Allegheny County — The Pennsylvania Department of State has officially certified the results of the presidential election after submissions from all 67 counties Monday night.

Gov. Tom Wolf signed the certificate of ascertainment for the slate of electors -- ruling Joe Biden and Kamala Harris winning the state of Pa.

The vote count broke down as follows for the presidential election in Pa.:

  • Biden/Harris - 3,458,229
  • Trump/Pence - 3,377,674
  • Jorgensen/Cohen - 79,380

“Today’s certification is a testament to the incredible efforts of our local and state election officials, who worked tirelessly to ensure Pennsylvania had a free, fair and accurate process that reflects the will of the voters,” said Wolf in a release.

The Allegheny County Board of Elections voted Monday morning to certify the results. The vote was 2-1 to certify the results, with Councilmember Sam DeMarco voting against the certification.

Former Vice President Joe Biden was ahead of President Donald Trump by more than 140,000 votes in Allegheny County and 81,000 votes in Pennsylvania.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro issued a statement regarding the certification of the results:

“Pennsylvania’s presidential electors have been chosen and certified for President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris in accordance with the popular vote in our Commonwealth. This is exactly how the process should happen — the people vote, those votes are counted, and the electors chosen reflect the will of the people.”
