PITTSBURGH — With nearly every business owner trying to find unique ways to fight COVID-19 to keep customers and employees safe, a Pennsylvania tech company said it has found a unique way to do that.
“We were getting so many inbound calls wanting to help protect patients, residents, staff, employees, anything that we could do knowing that we already had the technology,” said CEO of LifeAire Systems Dr. Kathryn Woorilow.
During a virtual news conference Tuesday, LifeAire Systems highlighted its new air filtration system. It was originally developing for in vitro fertilization facilities. It can kill infectious airborne pathogens in hospitals and nursing homes. The system is now being used in dental offices, work spaces and schools, thanks in part to a $100,000 state grant.
The company has also developed the technology to decontaminate N-95 masks, cleaning more than 1,600 in a single day.
