Pennsylvania travel advisory list: 40 states, including 5 neighboring states, now included

PITTSBURGH — Pennsylvania’s travel advisory list because of COVID-19 now includes 40 states.

Included on the list, which was updated Nov. 13, are three neighboring states: New Jersey, Ohio, West Virginia, Delaware and Maryland.

Non-essential travel to and from those states is highly discouraged by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

“Given the interconnected nature of Pennsylvania to neighboring states and the region and mode of transport between these states, a recommendation of quarantine for these states is not practically viable,” the Department of Health’s website says.

However, a 14-day quarantine is recommended if you have traveled or plan to travel to the remainder of the states on the travel advisory list, which are:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
